Puyi was the last Emperor of China who was appointed as an infant, forced to abdicate at a young age, and later became a Japanese puppet emperor in the state of Manchukuo. After World War II, he was captured and became a Soviet prisoner, then transferred to China to undergo re-education in a communist prison for 10 years. Finally, Puyi became an ordinary citizen, working as an editor and assistant at the botanical garden in Beijing, and wrote his autobiography, "From Emperor to Citizen".
